“When people walk into one of my homes, I want them to say, ‘This must be a Bob Stewart project.’”

This statement captures Bob’s vision for steering his expanding custom home construction company. When asked what makes his work stand out, he doesn’t hesitate with an answer: quality, customer service and personalized design. “There are excellent contractors, but not many are known for customer service. My company is uncompromising when it comes to both quality and service. I approach every project from a collaborative viewpoint with my clients.”

He extends this approach to his work team. “I have full confidence in my crew. Loyalty with trade partners guaranteed a higher level of trust and competence in every project we take on. Plus, I want our clients to have fun while working with us.” But he also understands the importance of trust with clients. “I don’t believe in underbidding a job just to get the work. That’s not fair to the client. I believe you can be creative and realistic at the same time.”

The creative drive is a carryover from Bob’s twelve years as an accomplished potter whose elegant designs and unique glazing technique distinguish his work. “Being an artist helps me see things multi-dimensionally. For a builder, that’s an edge. It helps me understand what the client is trying to achieve and then bring that to reality.”

When he’s not focused on his creative projects, Bob and wife Lanae, can be found meticulously sanding and varnishing their 60 year old wooden sailboat. Occasionally, they even set sail.
